As a versatile artist, Alessandro Sanzone (Turin, 1980) of Compagnia Signor Formicola has over the years experimented with and researched different forms of artistic expression, ranging from sculpture to painting and then to puppet theatre, which he fell in love with. Mainly self-taught, he followed courses with world-famous masters (including the Australian puppeteer Neville Trante of Stuffed Puppet Theater who lives in the Netherlands). He varies with different construction and animation techniques, including hand puppets, rope puppets and table puppets.
