Clou Dance Company [NL] Parpar

Parpar is Hebrew for butterfly, and the butterfly is a metaphor for freedom. Feeling free is a valuable experience that requires vulnerability, autonomy and trust. The performance 'Parpar' leads its audience through such an experience in which conflict, ambiguity, sensation and love are felt. This entices the public to associate. After the performance, Clou Dance Company likes to enter into a dialogue with its audience, to share experiences, points of recognition and own interpretations.

'Parpar' is an interactive dance duet in public space. Clou Dance Company does not play literally, but figuratively close to the audience's skin. The group is aimed at providing an experience at a special location, in which connection with the public is key. In 'Parpar' the audience is an important part of the performance. The dancers determine the freedom of the audience, the audience determines the freedom of the dancers. Without them there is no representation, whereby each representation is independent.
